So many books, so little time…..
If you are like me, you have a variety of books on your nightstand: some which are almost finished; some which you have just begun; and some you are just reading random pages from.
Here are my favorites this summer:
FOCUSING by Eugene Gendlin — This is a book I read back in the early 90’s when I was just getting licensed as a professional counselor. It is an excellent tool for HSPs to be seen, heard and honor all our deep perceptions, emotions, thoughts and feelings, and to gain confidence to act on them. So I was quite happy to recently experience a 6 week Focusing class with a new friend, colleague, HSP, and a certified Focusing teacher and mentor for HSPs.
Here are my comments to her after the six week teleclass:
“I have really enjoyed getting reacquainted with focusing and learning to immerse myself in it once again. What I liked best about Focusing is that it allows my mind to wander, to be curious, wondering what will come up, what wants to be seen, heard, felt? It feels great to stay present with an intense feeling, observing it as it changes into something that in the end usually leaves me feeling much lighter and not so bogged down with my HSP tendency to processing just about everything. And when I feel lighter, there is a sense of movement toward feeling more alive and creative in all aspects of my life. I highly recommend Focusing as a great tool for we highly sensitive people to explore and honor our depth of processing abilities and tendencies.”
There are two Focusing For HSP teleclasses that start in September:
6 Tuesdays – September 13 – October 18, 2017 – 1:00 – 3:00 pm (EST)
6 Wednesdays – September 14 – Oct 19, 2017 – 7:00 to 9:00 pm (EST)
- The class is $395 if registered before Sept 1st. You will gain so much, including life long “focusing partners” with whom you can Focus with for free.
If you would like to experience this wonderful tool for HSPs please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will get you all the information to sign up !
High Sensitivity in the Family
by Lone Horth & Karsten Nielsen
I first met Lone and Karsten at the 16th HSP Gathering Retreat in April 2009 in Somerset, England. It has been exciting to observe how they have grown since finding out about the HSP trait. I love their new book, and I love their You Tube video below.
“Attending an HSP Gathering was the start of our journey …. The HSP Gathering was a ground breaking expereince because for the first time Karsten was the one who was different.”
