Fall 2017 : HSP Highlights & Insights – Announcements, Decision Making & More

Celebrating the change of season.

Dear HSPs around the world,
Hello.  It has been a while.

Perhaps, like me, you have been purposefully working to stay centered and grounded while navigating unsettling and disturbing events in our world.  I have often been reminded of one of the characteristics from my list of the “Empowered HSP” and that is:

“Respects and honors our inevitable emotional reactions to disturbing events, thus helping us to serve as a role model for authentic concern for others and world events- and when necessary choosing to act vs. react in a way that honors ourselves and others.”

Spiritual Activism: Part of being an empowered HSP ?

There have been so many opportunities in the last year to become involved in what is being called “spiritual activism.”   This type of activism has a wide range, from helping with relief efforts from:   the ravaging fires in California;  hurricane and earthquake victims around the world; genocide in different parts of the world;  and last but not least becoming politically active if you are being called to do so.

A recent experience with a homeless woman was a time I honored my emotional reaction to a disturbing event.  As I sat drinking my latte in an outdoor coffee shop, I couldn’t help but notice her sitting alone staying warm in the sun.  It became painfully obvious to me that her skin was suffering greatly from daily exposure and who knows what else.  I felt a strong need to “act.”  With her permission, I purchased and gifted her a  rich & healing emollient cream which supposedly had protection from frost as well.    Tears came to both our eyes.   She is now in my daily thoughts and prayers.  I know the ointment I gave her was only a brief respite from her difficult life.  It made me so aware of just how much I take for granted and how much I have to be grateful for.

Speaking of grateful,  I want each of you to know how much I appreciate the many inquiries I’ve received:  How I’m doing; What I’m doing?; Why did you cancel the 34th Gathering in the Netherlands?  When is the next HSP Gathering Retreat?

Without further delay, here are several links leading you to the answers to all these questions and more.

Lissa’s list of questions made my decision to cancel the 34th HSP Gathering in the Netherland so much easier !   Maybe they will help you with difficult decisions as well ?

Wishing you empowered days as a sensitive person, and strength and courage on days when life gets difficult.
