from A Trilogy of Love and Other Bits and Pieces
by Sandra G. Pearsall

Step through the gate
Behind my wall and
Spend some time
With me.

Steal softly through
    the winding paths
    of my most
        inner being.

Be gentle as
    you pluck the
    wild blossoms
        of my spirit.

Play softly on
    my heartstrings
    songs of quiet

Explore with me
    uncharted springs
    that well up
        from my soul.

Play in the
    misty mornings
    in the valleys
        Of my mind.

For few there are
    who come behind
    the wall of my

Though many lean
    upon my gate
    and pass the
        time of day.
